This unique watch model owes its name to the aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont. It first appeared in 1904 and, as legend has it, it was created by Cartier on Santos’ order to help the Brazilian pilot keep time correctly.
The watch remained a legend and after over a hundred years, the Santos model received another incarnation. This time it is a skeleton masterpiece made of rose gold, with a transparent case made of sapphire glass. The watch mechanism inside is unique, with elements also made of rose gold. At first, the untrained eye will see mainly gears and intersecting strips of precious metal. Only a careful look will reveal the Roman numerals – III, VI, IX, XII located around the square center of the watch mechanism.
This unique men’s timepiece is made, along with the bracelet, almost entirely of rose gold.

As a sibling to the steel version, the Aquanaut Travel Time is now coming back onstage with the gentle warmth of rose gold and a brown dial. This exceptionally convenient traveler’s companion is endowed with a self-winding movement. The two buttons in the left-hand case flank can be used to move the local-time hour hand forward or backward in one-hour increments. The date is coupled with the local time indication.
When launched in 1997, the Aquanaut created a sensation. It was young, modern and unexpected. Its case was a rounded octagon, inspired by that of the Nautilus. And it sported a “tropical” strap, made of a new composite material ultra-resistant to wear, salt water and uv radiation.
The revival of a legend, combining the highest traditional watchmaking skills with a brand-new approach, fresh and contemporary. The TORIC Petite Seconde redefines drastically the codes of the conservative dress watch thanks to the choice of colours and execution: gold manual winding new movement, gold or platinum case, gold “chevé” dial, gold indexes and hands, gold crown, pin buckle only to admire the movement.
The TORIC Chronographe Rattrapante heart is crafted in 18ct rose gold. This integrated movement is a “racing machine” which beats at a high frequency (5Hz) and incorporates a double column wheel. Its structural elements are skeletonized and suggest an arabesque, leaving ample room for visual appreciation of its moving components.
