Hublot unveils a new version of its revolutionary material, SAXEM. Closely allied to sapphire, SAXEM is equally resistant, yet offers even more luminosity.
With cousins, you can tell they come from the same family but they do have distinctive differences. The same can be said for sapphire and SAXEM, their connection is clear as they come from the same Hublot lineage. The Manufacture in Nyon is credited with bringing them both into the 21st century, to the point of establishing them as hallmark materials. Even so, their profiles are quite distinct. Sapphire is made of aluminium oxide, to which metallic oxides are added to provide colour. In contrast, SAXEM is coloured with rare earth elements. Sapphire has a trigonal (three-sided) structure, while SAXEM has a cubic (four-sided) form. Chemical details? Maybe, but ever since Hublot established itself as an integrated Manufacture, R&D has been the key focus of its operations. This was true when the Nyon Manufacture was inaugurated in 2009, and, 15 years later, remains so today. The new Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM is further proof.

It was with OMEGA’s maritime legacy in mind that the brand launched its Planet Ocean line in 2005. Today, the stylish OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer pays homage to OMEGA’s dive watch heritage.
This model, with its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, features a polished black ceramic dial with with Arabic numerals and a date window at the 3 o’clock position. Mounted on the 43.5 mm stainless steel case, is the world’s premiere black ceramic bezel with orange rubber. The diving scale of the bezel is crafted with Liquidmetal™.
Other features include an alveol screw-in caseback and a stainless steel bracelet with patented extendable foldover clasp.
The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer is water resistant to 600 metres / 2000 feet / 60 bar, and has a helium-escape valve. The OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8900 at the heart of this timepiece can be seen through the transparent caseback. To achieve Master Chronometer status, it has passed the 8 rigorous tests set by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
Quai Des Bergues N°17 Double Soleil Deep Blue Czapek
One size never truly fits all – and with this in mind, Czapek presents its Quai des Bergues model in a new, 40.5mm case. The steel case retains all of the stylistic signatures of the Quai des Bergues case – with a slight refinement of the case-side recesses in order to incorporate the movement (Calibre SXH1) – and a subtle change to the slope of the lugs to ensure a perfect fit on the wrist.
The SXH1 caliber is a proprietary movement designed by Czapek. It is the first in a family of movements developed specifically for Czapek watches, according to the strictest rules of the watchmaking art. It was conceived in cooperation with Le Locle based company Chronode. This manually wound movement has two barrel springs, ensuring 7 days of power reserve and runs at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour, (3 Hertz). It features an annular balance wheel with weights for variable inertia and a Breguet terminal curve balance spring. The balance cock has been finely skeletonized and streamlined to give the whole balance greater transparency. It is finely decorated and remains aesthetically and functionally true to the 1850 original. The architecture remains symmetrical, and the sandblasted finish is a modern interpretation of the ‘satiné frost’ technique used in the 19th Century.

The BR 05 belongs to the family of watches with an integrated bracelet: the bracelet fuses with the case to create a unified piece. In the words of Bruno Belamich, Bell & Ross’ co-founder and creative director: «This integration of case and bracelet is not only in line with the brand’s visual identity, it also brings another dimension to the watch: the first link forms part of the case. This type of design harks back to the Seventies, and when transposed to Bell & Ross, it creates a result with a graphic style which is both striking and modern.”

At the centre of the sun-brushed green dial, framed by a polished-brushed green ceramic bezel, OMEGA has produced a vision of Earth, viewed from above the North Pole, by laser-ablating continents and colours on a grade 5 titanium surface. Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope
The Chronoscope collection has taken the legendary Speedmaster design and combined it with inspiration from OMEGA’s chronograph wristwatches from the 1940s.
This 43 mm model is crafted in OMEGA’s exclusive Bronze Gold, with an oxidised bronze dial featuring a special patina and opaline finish. Along with a polished brown ceramic bezel ring with its tachymeter scale in “vintage” enamel, the leaf-shaped hands and Arabic numerals also feature an 18K Bronze Gold PVD coating. A unique “spiral” track pattern runs beneath the numbers.
Most notably, the dial is printed with three distinctive timing scales in a 1940’s “snail” design, including a tachymeter scale, a pulsometer scale and a telemeter scale.
Presented on a brown leather strap, the watch features a silvery small-seconds counter at 9H, and a silvery 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3H. Inside, the timepiece is driven by the manual-winding OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908.

Always ahead of his time, conciliating tradition, innovation and modern technology, f.p.journe has developed a revolutionary horological concept for his first ladies collection. It was designed and conceived exclusively for women, with extremely precise technical specifications to provide this watch a long autonomy of 8 to 10 years in daily use and up to 18 years in standby mode.
8 years of development were necessary for this innovative movement that combines a great comfort of use and the performances of an electro-mechanical watch with feminity, elegance and precision. The “élégante” allows the time to be stopped and started again. This is the dream of all watchmakers…
The concept of this electro-mechanical watch features a mechanical motion detector visible on the dial at 4:30. When the “élégante” is motionless, it goes in stand by mode after 35 minutes to save its energy and the hands stop turning. During the standby mode, the microprocessor continues to keep time, while the mechanical parts – gears, rotors and hands – stop moving. When the “élégante” is moved again, the hands sets themselves automatically to the current time, taking the shortest path – either clockwise or counter clockwise.
All the mechanical elements of the “élégante” movement are manufactured by f.p.journe, based on the brand’s own criteria of excellence in state-of-the-art haute horology. The electronic components are made in switzerland according to exclusive standards, with a microprocessor specifically created for the watch.
The luminescent dial of the “élégante” in the titanium versions recalls the shimmering surface of white mother-of-pearl. It offers maximum legibility, by day and by night. At night the hands count off the hours, as in a shadow theatre. As a finishing touch to his first ladies collection, f.p.journe has chosen a flat tortue case, whose design is trademarked.
As françois-Paul Journe says: “i created this watch because for 20 years, women have been asking me to design a watch for them; a watch that was different and comfortable to wear, and that suited their needs and desires. I therefore created this long-lasting watch especially for them. Today the “élégante” features the only electro-mechanical movement conceived and created for the luxury market and offering a true vision of luxury.”
The “élégante” 40mm titanium is available with 8 coloured rubber straps: white, powder rose, orange, chocolate, black, anthracite, midnight blue and khaki green. The ergonomic shape of the straps perfectly embraces the wrist.

This 43.50 mm model, cased in black ceramic [ZrO2] and Sedna™ gold, has a black ceramic dial with laser-ablated waves in positive relief. The polished Sedna™ gold indexes and facetted hands, filled with white Super-LumiNova, contrast beautifully with the black dial.
