Drawing inspiration from the philosophy of the Japanese sword, the titanium band is designed by Gassan to resemble the hilt. Traditionally marked with the yasuri-me pattern, this hidden yet crucial part of the sword ensures the blade is securely held in the grip. This attention to detail and pursuit of perfection gives each watch a unique presence.
Casio introduces a new hybrid titanium bezel that evokes the distinct ayasugi-hada patterns of the Gassan family. The newly developed titanium is crafted from recrystallized layers of pure titanium and Ti64 titanium. Overseen by Gassan himself, the process captures the true beauty of the sword’s tempering patterns.
The blue-gray bezel, strap, and case back feature Casio’s latest colored ion plating technology, reflecting the blue-gray hue of perfectly crafted iron. The case, made from recrystallized pure titanium, exhibits a unique crystalline pattern and is treated with deep hardening and titanium carbide finishing for enhanced durability and wear resistance. A commemorative metal plate engraved with the G-SHOCK 40th anniversary logo at the 10 o’clock position adds the final touch to this striking design.
